Imprinted wins Bella Fe/ Frameforge Previz Scholarship at Burbank Film Festival

My sci fi action film Imprinted has won the Bella Fe / Frameforge Preivz Scholarship at the 2011 Burbank Film Festival. Ken Mora of Bella Fe films, an animation company, chose from among the five screenplay finalists. It was a real honor to win this as Imprinted was competing with some very fine scripts.

This is an amazing award because it's an invitation to a new level of professionalism, and not just a certificate or a plaque (though I like those too!). Once I get my copy of the Frame Forge Core Package previsualization software and learn how to use it, I'll make 3D animation versions of some of the harder to visualize scenes in Imprinted. Like the moment Vivien first gets imprinted. Some readers have said to me: "I love the concept but I just can't visualize how the imprinting works." Well, it is kind of hard to  visualize what it looks like when you are a fourteen year old girl and three grown male astronauts are copied into your mind.

The scholarship includes $500 and a full pass to next year's festival where I hope to wow everyone with my previz's (I have to learn how to spell all the variant nouns and verbs that go with previsualizing too). I'll post pieces on the web page as I develop them. Any one out there who knows FrameForge let me know!
